Reducing Food Waste, Supporting a Family

After being forcibly displaced from Artsakh, Gevorg was determined to rebuild his family's future through honest work. In Armenia, he opened a neighborhood produce store, providing fresh fruits and vegetables to his community while working to establish a stable source of income.

Like many small business owners, however, he faced a practical challenge. Without proper climate control, high temperatures caused fruits and vegetables to spoil more quickly, resulting in unnecessary losses and making it harder for the business to grow.

Through the Lorik Humanitarian Fund Small Business Development Program, we provided funding for the purchase and installation of an air conditioning system, helping preserve fresh produce, reduce waste, and improve the store's long-term sustainability.

Sometimes rebuilding doesn't require a large investment. A single improvement can protect a family's livelihood, strengthen a local business, and provide greater financial stability for years to come.

Every small business grant helps another forcibly displaced Artsakh family move one step closer to independence.

Thank you to everyone who makes these projects possible.
