Since the forced displacement of Artsakh Armenians in 2023, thousands of families have faced the difficult challenge of rebuilding their lives from nothing in Armenia.
For many families, the loss was not only their homes, but also their livelihoods, businesses, careers, tools, and financial stability. While emergency humanitarian aid remains critical, long-term recovery depends on creating sustainable opportunities that allow families to regain independence and rebuild with dignity.
Through the Small Business Grant Program of the Lorik Humanitarian Fund, displaced Artsakh Armenian families are receiving support to launch or expand small businesses that can provide long-term income and stability.
One recent recipient is a young woman from Artsakh who studied applied arts and is now rebuilding her future in Armenia through sewing and handmade design work. With support from Lorik Fund, she is continuing to develop her skills and create a sustainable source of income after losing her home in Artsakh.
Her story reflects the resilience that so many displaced Artsakh Armenians continue to demonstrate despite immense hardship.
Lorik Fund’s Small Business Grant Program supports a wide range of initiatives based on each family’s experience, skills, and needs. Grants have helped families pursue projects involving:
Sewing and handmade crafts
Beekeeping
Agriculture and farming
Food production
Printing and copy services
Livestock and poultry raising
Guesthouse improvements
Home-based businesses and trades
Rather than creating dependency, these grants are designed to help families rebuild self-sufficiency and long-term stability in Armenia.
Every small business project represents more than financial assistance. It represents hope, dignity, and the opportunity for displaced families to regain control over their future after losing nearly everything.
As Lorik Fund continues its work supporting displaced Artsakh Armenians through housing projects, scholarships, cultural initiatives, and livelihood programs, the need remains urgent. Many families are still struggling to establish stable lives in Armenia while coping with the trauma and loss of displacement.
We are deeply grateful to all of our supporters whose contributions make these projects possible.
