Last week, we shared the story of Arto Grigoryan, a displaced farmer from Artsakh who rebuilt his pig farm after relocating to Armenia.
After starting again with 32 piglets through a small business program, he had grown his farm to 60 pigs. However, rising feed costs threatened the stability of his operation.
Rather than allow the farm to decline, we acted.
Immediate Agricultural Support for a Displaced Artsakh Farmer
Through the support of our benefactors, funds were transferred and Arto was able to acquire the necessary pig feed to stabilize his farm.
This assistance was not a handout.
It was a targeted intervention designed to protect an already functioning small business and prevent setbacks.
The goal is always sustainability.
Arto continues to grow his farm and work toward full self-sufficiency.
Expanding Small Business Development for Displaced Families
Beyond this individual case, we recently launched a Small Business Development Application for displaced Artsakh families seeking to rebuild through entrepreneurship.
In just one week, we have already received 43 applications.
These applications include:
Agricultural initiatives
Small-scale production businesses
Trade and service ventures
Livelihood restoration projects
The demand is significant. The need for structured, accountable support is clear.
Building Sustainable Livelihoods in Armenia
At Lorik Humanitarian Fund, small business assistance is built around:
Practical business plans
Measured funding
Accountability
Follow-up and monitoring
Sustainability over dependency
Over the past several years, we have supported numerous small business efforts, from agricultural startups to micro-enterprises, always with the goal of restoring independence and economic stability.
Rebuilding after displacement requires more than temporary aid.
It requires opportunity.
