Lorik Humanitarian Fund's Judo on the Border program is officially underway in Bertavan, a village along Armenia's northeastern border in the Tavush region.

Under the guidance of instructor Sose Balasanyan, a judoka from Artsakh, children are now participating in regular judo classes, developing discipline, confidence, physical strength, and teamwork.

To help launch the program, Lorik has purchased and distributed 28 judo uniforms (judogi) to participating students.

The distribution of uniforms marks an important milestone for this new initiative, which provides children in a border community with access to organized sports and professional instruction.

Making the Program Possible

Judo on the Border operates on an annual budget of approximately $9,800, covering instructor compensation, training space, utilities, uniforms, and equipment.

Through the generosity of our supporters, approximately half of the annual budget has already been raised and received. Another supporter has pledged to cover the remaining costs through monthly contributions, helping provide financial stability as the program gets underway.

We are grateful to everyone whose contributions and commitments have made this initiative possible.

Investing in Children and Border Communities

For Lorik, supporting children extends beyond providing immediate humanitarian assistance. We believe in creating opportunities that encourage personal development, strengthen communities, and give young people the resources to pursue their interests.

Judo on the Border is part of that commitment.

With classes now underway and 28 students equipped with uniforms, we look forward to watching these young athletes develop their skills and sharing their progress.

A contribution of $25 per month can help sustain a child's participation in the program, supporting its continued operation and long-term growth.

Thank you to everyone helping make Judo on the Border a reality.
