After being forcibly displaced from Artsakh, Davit continued to pursue his passion for chess in Armenia, supported by donors committed to helping young people rebuild their futures. His recent chess victory is a testament to resilience, talent, and the impact of community support.

This success story complements Lorik Humanitarian Fund’s broader work providing permanent housing for displaced Artsakh families, recognizing that long-term stability creates the foundation for young people to pursue education, talent development, and global achievement.

In May, with the help of our donors, we proudly sponsored Davit Baghdasaryan, a promising young chess player from Artsakh, to compete in Dubai—where he impressed the international chess community by taking third place.

Just last week, we were honored to support Davit once again as he traveled to the United Arab Emirates for the Fujairah International Chess Competition. This time, his dedication and skill carried him even further: he earned second place.
