A Decade of Unity and Impact

For more than 11 years, North Meets South has brought together Armenian young professionals across California to socialize, network, and raise funds for meaningful community causes. Last year alone, the event raised over $25,000 for Sahag-Mesrob Armenian Christian School following the Eaton Fire.

This year, that same spirit of unity is being directed toward Artsakh families rebuilding their lives in Armenia.

In unity, there is strength.

Medical Support: Responding When Help Cannot Wait

Thanks to donor support, Lorik Humanitarian Fund recently assisted Gurgen Gabrielyan (born 1997), a young refugee from Artsakh, with urgent medical needs.

On December 25, we transferred 350,000 AMD (approximately $875 USD) to help cover the cost of surgery to remove a tumor. We are relieved to share that Gurgen underwent a successful operation two days ago and is currently recovering well.

This is the kind of rapid, life-impacting response your support makes possible.

Education Update: Aznavour Saghyan Scholarship Fund

The Aznavour Saghyan Scholarship Fund supports university students forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

Through the Aznavour Saghyan Scholarship Fund, Lorik Humanitarian Fund has now provided tuition assistance to 61 students forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

Many of these students face barriers that exclude them from government tuition coverage — including distance learning status, program changes, or advanced degree enrollment. Your support ensures that no student is forced to abandon their education due to displacement.

Housing Update: Mikhaelovka Village, Lori Region

We are also nearing the final stages of securing another permanent home in Mikhaelovka village, Lori region, where five Artsakh families already reside as beneficiaries of our housing program.

This home purchase is being funded by the generous donation received from St. John Armenian Apostolic Church of San Francisco.

This home purchase is part of our broader Artsakh housing program, which provides permanent homes for displaced families in Armenia.

Recently paved asphalt roads temporarily drove asking prices well above fair market value, and holiday closures delayed notary and government processes. Now that normal operations have resumed and prices have stabilized, we expect to:

  • finalize a home selection

  • complete any necessary renovations

  • select a beneficiary family

  • hold a home blessing

We look forward to sharing that milestone with you soon.
